Foreign Affairs

First and foremost, we will not allow our policies to be dictated by terrorists and extremists.

Our philosophy on Foreign Affairs is to achieve a balance between UK interests and security, international co-operation, and a policy of general non-intervention whenever possible.
Obviously a Templar government will offer no commitment to the EU 'rapid reaction force' and common defence policy. We take a stance of armed neutrality, where no British lives will be risked in meddling 'peace-keeping' missions in parts of the world where no British interests are at stake.

Our Policies

1. Putting Britain first.

Our primary task is to reprioritise the budget by cutting spending on foreign aid. Hospitals are closing and the NHS is suffering many job losses, our armed forces are desperately underfunded, unable to afford essential upgrades to equipment and this will continue to cost lives. Britain has one of the highest poverty rates in the EU, with a quarter of the population living below the national poverty line.

In this context we believe that it is negligible for any government that is democratically elected by the people of this country to ignore the needs of it's citizens, in favour of those overseas.
2. Armed neutrality.

Our philosophy is to achieve a balance between UK interests and security, international co-operation, and a policy of general non-intervention whenever possible. We do not see our armed forces as international policemen or social workers, and will take a stance of armed neutrality.

We will will continue to take an active part in the UN, and endeavor to enjoy peaceful and prosperous relationship with our neighbours, and all other peaceful nations.

We will also use our position to pledge support to tackle climate change, the international illegal drugs economy and alleviating world poverty.
