Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect and use the personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our site and services.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you visit our website you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and website use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse our website.

Personal Information You Choose to Provide:

Registration Information

We do not currently require visitors or members to register, but we hope to offer this service in the near future. You would provide us with information about yourself and your practices when you register to be a member of The Templars, register for certain services, or register for email newsletters and alerts. You may also provide additional comments on how you see The Templars aims, policies and proposals.

Email Information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses.

Website Use Information

Similar to other websites, we utilise a standard technology called "cookies" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") and webserver logs to collect information about how our website is used. Information gathered through cookies and webserver logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our website, and the websites visited just before and just after our website. We, our advertisers and ad serving companies may also use small pieces of code called "web beacons" or "clear gifs" to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them.

For security purposes The Templars sometimes collects and analyses the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, and to our website. This is done for your protection for tracking purposes in the unfortunate event that someone gains access to your personal or financial information and opens an account, or uses services under your name.

Note: We do not currently partner with or have relationships with any ad server companies.

Information You Provide Us

You provide most such information when you browse, search, post comments, or other methods of communication via our website or email to The Templars. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your name, address, and phone numbers.

How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?

Broadly speaking, we use personal information for purposes of administering and expanding our activities, providing service and making available other services to our members and prospective members. Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our website, and new services we think you may enjoy. You may notify us at any time if you do not wish to receive this information by visiting our Contact Us page.

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

How Do We Use Information We Collect from Cookies?

As you browse our website, the site uses its cookies to differentiate you from other users. In some cases, we also use cookies to prevent you from seeing unnecessary advertisements or requiring you to log in more than is necessary for security. Cookies, in conjunction with our webserver's log files, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting our website and which parts of the site are most popular. This helps us gather feedback in order to constantly improve our website and better serve our members. Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you and we do not generally store any personal information that you provided to us in your cookies.

Sharing Information with Third Parties

We may enter into alliances, partnerships or other business arrangements with third parties who may be given access to personal information including your name, address, telephone number and email for the purpose of providing you information regarding products and services that we think will be of interest to you. In connection with alliances, partnerships or arrangements, we may also provide certain information to third parties if we have determined that the information will be used in a responsible manner by a responsible third party. For example, some of our partners operate stores or provide services on our site, while others power offerings developed by us for your use. As we develop, we may buy or sell assets or business offerings. Member's email, and visitor information is generally one of the transferred business assets in these types of transactions. We may also transfer such information in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, or any dissolution.

Note: We do not currently partner with or have relationships with any ad server companies.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission of information you provide to us for our services. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer by clicking the "log off" link located in the side menu.

Note: Users are not currently required to login to use our website. We hope to introduce this feature in the near future.

Which Information Can I Access?

The Templars will give you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with us for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information.

Terms & Conditions, Notices, and Revisions

If you choose to visit The Templars, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Notice and our Conditions of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the regional law. If you have any concern about privacy of your personal information as used and collected within our website, please send us a thorough description by clicking on the Contact Us link on the side menu, and we will try to resolve it.

Our organisation changes constantly, and our Privacy Policy and the Conditions of Use will change also. We may e-mail periodic reminders of our notices and conditions, unless you have instructed us not to, but you should check our website frequently to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account. We stand behind the promises we make, however, and will never materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of member information collected in the past without the consent of affected members.
